The Healthy and Not-So-Healthy Habits

Being in no contact with someone feels like living the same day over and over: waking up, going to work, coming home, eating, and sleeping. Life continues on a loop, but there’s an emptiness in the background, an ache that doesn’t seem to go away. It’s like living on autopilot, with flashes of memories hitting when you least expect it.

The Hardest Part: The Questions

The hardest part for me is the constant wondering. Do they miss me? Do they feel the same emptiness, or am I the only one struggling? Every part of my day whether I’m making coffee, working, or just trying to relax gets interrupted by these questions. It’s hard to shake the feeling of doubt, wondering if no contact is really the right choice.

Does It Get Better?

The truth is, it does get better. But it only works if you’re strong enough to stick with it and not give in when it’s tempting to reach out. With time, the pain starts to feel less sharp, and the memories don’t hurt as much. Eventually, little details, like how their laugh sounded or the way they said your name, begin to fade. It’s slow, but it happens.
