Marriage today feels like such a daunting thing for so many of us. As a woman who’s been around long enough to see the ups and downs of relationships. I can’t help but notice how many of my peers are afraid of it. There’s this pressure, almost like there’s a ticking clock, to find “the one,” to make sure it’s right, and to avoid the failures we’ve seen all around us.
The Fear of Perfection
The fear often comes from thinking everything has to be perfect the perfect partner, perfect timing, perfect life. We see marriages fall apart, sometimes in messy, public ways, and it makes us wonder: Is it worth it? Can a lasting, happy relationship even exist? Hearing stories about people struggling or feeling stuck in the wrong relationship only makes it harder not to worry.

I can’t help but think about the darker side of relationships that sometimes hold us back.
