What Does Love Really Mean at Different Stages of Life?
Love is one of those things we’re all told to seek, to chase, to hold on to. But the reality of love is far more complex than we’re often led to believe. It comes in different shapes, sizes, and forms. and often, it’s not at all what we expect. We may think we know what love looks like but over time. we realize it’s not something we can define with a single image. It’s a journey, and each step along the way teaches us something new.
The First Kind of Love:
I often think about the first kind of love we experience. It’s the one that usually happens when we’re young when we don’t know much about life or love, but we know how it feels. It’s pure, simple, and sometimes fleeting. We may not understand it fully but it’s real in its own way.
When we’re younger, we dive into love with wide-eyed wonder, believing that what we feel is all there is. The crushes, the first infatuations, the fluttering heartbeats when you see someone special it’s intoxicating. But as we grow older, we might look back and think, “Was that really love?” It may not have lasted. It might have ended over silly misunderstandings or drifting apart.
